Louie Gohmert Opposes Gun Control Because Gay Marriage Leads to Bestiality →

You read it right:

In fact, I had this discussion with some wonderful, caring Democrats earlier this week on the issue of, well, they said “surely you could agree to limit the number of rounds in a magazine, couldn’t you? How would that be problematic?”

And I pointed out, well, once you make it ten, then why would you draw the line at ten? What’s wrong with nine? Or eleven? And the problem is once you draw that limit ; it’s kind of like marriage when you say it’s not a man and a woman any more, then why not have three men and one woman, or four women and one man, or why not somebody has a love for an animal?

There is no clear place to draw the line once you eliminate the traditional marriage and it’s the same once you start putting limits on what guns can be used, then it’s just really easy to have laws that make them all illegal.

Attention Democrats: Chris Christie Isn't Your New Best Friend →

The truth is, he isn’t your friend, nor is he the Republican messiah. To the latter point, I’m beginning to doubt that he’ll have any chance whatsoever of becoming the Republican nominee for president in 2016, with or without crossover support from Democrats.

He happens to be staunchly anti-choice on reproductive rights. He’s historically opposed to gun control laws, including one that would’ve restricted gun purchases to one-per-month. Evidently Christie thinks Americans should be able to purchase multiple guns every several weeks. And this morning on the Today show, Christie took the NRA position: he dodged gun control entirely and blamed video games and mental health issues instead, just like Wayne LaPierre did in his through-the-looking-glass press conference following Sandy Hook. How mavericky of Christie to basically rubber-stamp LaPierre. He’s also certifiably insane when it comes to economic and fiscal policy, vetoing tax hikes on millionaires while cutting infrastructure and education spending. He’s never met a supply-side proposal he didn’t like, except when it comes to transporting him to soccer games. Then it’s spend, spend, spend.

In terms of his public style, the same personality that gives us honest press conferences like last week, as well as his unapologetic kudos for the president back in October, also gives us snippy goombah reactions to the press and the public at large, behavior that makes George W. Bush’s more petulant outbursts seem statesmanlike (links via Charles Pierce).

SUBWAY employee asked customer 'Are you Muslim?' then locked the door →

hummussexual:

Excerpt:

A retired 63-year-old U.S. citizen of South Asian heritage who lives in New Orleans reported to CAIR that on November 21, 2012, he and his wife stopped at the SUBWAY restaurant in Shreveport, La. Before ordering, they went to the restrooms in the facility. The husband exited the restroom first and went outside the restaurant to wait for his wife in anticipation of re-entering to order their food.

While his wife was still inside the restaurant, the victim attempted to re-enter, but was blocked at the door by a female SUBWAY employee who allegedly asked him “Are you Muslim?” When the victim replied that he is indeed Muslim, the SUBWAY employee reportedly responded, “We can’t serve you.” The employee then went inside the restaurant and locked the door behind her. Fearing for his wife’s safety and distraught at the violation of his civil rights, the man called 911.

When the Shreveport Police Department arrived, an officer went inside the SUBWAY restaurant and later came out to tell the victim that the manager was “scared” of him and that he “better leave.”

First I was like…..what!? and then I was like, oh “Louisiana,” might as well say “in 1919.”

NOM: TEH GAYZ, THEY IN THE SKOOLZ!

MORSE: I think a lot of our students are encountering this type of situation in their dorms and on their college campuses… What I want to say to you, is that the other side has RAs in the dorm where your young people are going to school. There’s no TV message that is going to do the job of countering that type of influence. Somebody’s got to be there talking to young people one at a time in the places where they’re hanging out and doing the things that they’re doing. There’s no mass media strategy by itself that will solve this problem. […]

And this holiday season, when your young people come home from college, ask them about this. Ask them if they have a gay RA in their dorms… So please, talk to your young people about this and see what kind of pressure they may be under that maybe even they don’t realize how much it’s having an impact upon them.

lol, here’s to all the jackasses who say being against gay marriage isn’t indicative of a hatred of gay people.

I wouldn’t care if a fetus were a human or had “personhood”

It doesn’t, but if it did, it wouldn’t matter. You’re not required by any law to keep another creature alive using your organs. The law can’t dictate that you breastfeed instead of use formula, it can’t demand you donate a kidney even if you’re a match and the person who needs it is a child who will die and the law can’t keep you pregnant against your will.

And it’s not immoral either, not that it would matter if it were since laws aren’t designed on the basis of morality.

"Rape is worse than abortion"

Reasonable response: Yeah, of course, what an obvious thing to say. I'd rather see a million abortions before one rape, duh.
Christian Conservative response: ZOMG! THAT'S OFFENSIVE, I JUST POOPED MY PANTS AT HOW OFFENSIVE THAT IS, BABIES DON'T DESERVE TO DIE I AM A LIVING MORAL PANIC MACHINE BLAHBLAHBLAH!

Rep. Paul Broun, R-Ga., is against evolution, and he sits on the House Science Committee too.

The National Organization for Marriage released an ad saying that allowing gay couples to marry would be akin to legalizing pedophilia and incest.

In the video posted on the group’s website, a female narrator says the government has only three options to influence the behavior of its citizens.
