You know what’s not funny? Hate. You know what’s also not funny? People going on hate-filled rants. However, you know what is funny, people going on hate-filled rants that make so little sense that they sound like someone took the worst comments from a political message board, mixed all the words around, translated them to Japanese, and then translated them back. And that’s what happened at a council meeting in Lincoln, Nebraska and it resulted in one of the craziest videos you’ll see this week.

Recently, Nebraskan cities have been trying to deal with the lack of protection that LGBT citizens have from discrimination. The state’s anti-discrimination laws don’t cover sexual orientation. YouTube user aksarbent has been uploading videos of some of the more interesting moments from hearings on the issue. One of them, he or she labeled “Best in Show!” and, good lord, is that not hyperbole.

I promise this is the best video you’ll watch today. Just….wow.

He can’t look like that. That’s wrong. Just look at him!

Mitt Romney speaking about John Lauber, a soft-spoken new student one year behind Romney, who was perpetually teased for his nonconformity and presumed homosexuality. Romney was commenting on his “walking around the all-boys school with bleached-blond hair that draped over one eye.”

This testimony comes from Matthew Friedemann, Romney’s close friend in the Stevens Hall dorm. According to Friedemann’s recollection, Mitt kept complaining about Lauber’s look. Obsessively. Today the story’s being printed in the Washington Post.

The only thing that I know for sure is true is that this is being printed in the Washington Post, who says The incident was recalled similarly by five students, who gave their accounts independently of one another.

North Carolina Anti-Gay Marriage Amendment 1 Reportedly Written To Protect 'Caucasian Race' →

The wife of a North Carolina state senator reportedly told poll workers during early voting Monday that an amendment sponsored by her husband was intended partially to protect the Caucasian race.

Jodie Brunstetter is the wife of state Sen. Peter Brunstetter (R), a supporter of Amendment 1, which would change North Carolina’s Constitution to permit only heterosexual marriage.

According to the alternative Yes! Weekly, writer and campaigner Chad Nance spoke to a pollworker who told him that Jodie Brunstetter said, “The reason my husband wrote Amendment 1 was because the Caucasian race is diminishing and we need to uh, reproduce.”

lol, what? Oh, Christian Conservatives, why is everything you do so hilariously stupid?

My mom called to tell me this horrible story about my aunt-

practice-self-love:

So my aunt is a born-again Christian

My brother is an ordained priest in some pagan religion (I’m not sure of the details), and he’s very well-read in all religion

My aunt was spouting something off about religion, about how God hates gays or something

And my mom said, “Well, my son says that it’s proven that blah blah blah”

And my aunt goes: “He is a homosexual. He knows nothing about the word of God. Homosexuals are an abomination of the Bible.”

Forget that he basically studies religion

FUCK YOU.

We’ve disowned my aunt.

She’s such a menace.

I know this is negative, but there is a point - STAND UP FOR WHO YOU LOVE. My mom did not ask for two queer children. My mom did not ask to have her mind opened, her point of view shaken to the core, her idea of normal turned upside down. But she loves us. And she knows in her heart that what my aunt said is WRONG.

What Christianity does to a family.
