wtfsarruhh:

Why is it that it’s almost always a liberal who thinks that white people aren’t racially discriminated against?

Because truth has a well known liberal bias?

I just don’t get it.

no kidding.

Saying things like brown pride or black pride is totally okay but if you’re proud to be white you’re racist.

Yes, of course White Pride is racist and Black Pride and Brown Pride are not. Black and Brown Pride are movements designed to stand in opposition of the prejudice people face from both White individuals and an inherently racist system. White Pride is support for that very establishment that taught Brown and Black skinned people they should be ashamed. These phrases aren’t just face-value, they all carry weight and your ignorance of the historical significance of these phrases doesn’t change the real meanings behind them.

White people are discriminated against all the time. I’ve had it happen to me multiple times.

No you haven’t, not for being a White person and even if you think you have, not only would you be wrong, but it wouldn’t matter. Racism is a system of oppression, it’s a problem with society. It’s not a bad day you had and it’s not someone being rude to you. It’s a society designed to make one race of people more likely to end up in jail despite committing the same crimes at the same rate. It’s a system that allows one race to dominate industry, politics, medicine and the arts even while people of another race are the ones constantly innovating. Do you know what percentage of fortune 500 companies in the history of ever have had a black CEO? 13 Black CEOs have EVER run a Fortune 500 company. Not 13%. 13 individuals. Ever. And of those 13, half of them are currently the CEO. (added layer, of those 13, only one has been a woman.)

Do you really think White people just work harder and that’s why this sort of thing occurs? Do you really think there is any equality at all between some bullshit you perceived as discrimination, probably because you felt uncomfortable in a city once, and actual discrimination?

Think again.

But, Seriously…

donttreadonvirginia:

If a taxpayer-funded feminist organization like the GMU Women and Gender Studies Department is going to grudgingly admit that perhaps women value themselves less than men and as a result don’t negotiate as hard for higher salaries, who’s to blame for this phenomena?

Oh, obviously the victims are to blame, right? Stupid dickface.

Could it be decades of feminists telling women that the patriarchy was screwing them over and that society considered them less valuable than men?

Yeah, cause we all know there was no income inequality until Betty Friedan invented it, right?

Because I don’t think you can deny that that could be a major factor once you admit that the “gender pay gap” may be largely a factor of negotiation.

Oh Boy, it really takes quite a lot of mental gymnastics to maintain your privilege denial, doesn’t it?

Well, tumblr, you heard what http://mudbetweenourtoes.tumblr.com/ said, definitely don’t go to her blog and click “ask” and leave her a message about what an idiotic comment she made when she referred to “civil rights extremists.” Don’t go over there and ask her what she meant. Don’t attempt to start a dialogue. Don’t expose the obvious flaws in her shameful comment. Don’t tell her how her comment directly supports the oppression of ideas that support equality. Don’t let her know that liberals aren’t going to be intimidated by her bullying tone. Certainly don’t use this link: http://mudbetweenourtoes.tumblr.com/ask To do any of things.
Now I’m just gonna leave this post here, the one with the link to http://mudbetweenourtoes.tumblr.com/ask and turn around and when I come back no one better have clicked it and let her know how her use of the term “civil rights extremist” makes them feel.

NOM: TEH GAYZ, THEY IN THE SKOOLZ!

MORSE: I think a lot of our students are encountering this type of situation in their dorms and on their college campuses… What I want to say to you, is that the other side has RAs in the dorm where your young people are going to school. There’s no TV message that is going to do the job of countering that type of influence. Somebody’s got to be there talking to young people one at a time in the places where they’re hanging out and doing the things that they’re doing. There’s no mass media strategy by itself that will solve this problem. […]

And this holiday season, when your young people come home from college, ask them about this. Ask them if they have a gay RA in their dorms… So please, talk to your young people about this and see what kind of pressure they may be under that maybe even they don’t realize how much it’s having an impact upon them.

lol, here’s to all the jackasses who say being against gay marriage isn’t indicative of a hatred of gay people.

Here’s a collection of conservative celebrities like Ann Coulter and Dana Loesch posting rape jokes about Sandra Fluke. I guess it ain’t such a big tent afterall, eh ladies?

Corey Bernstein is a 17-year-old resident of New Jersey and co-chair of the Youth Caucus at Garden State Equality, the state’s organization for LGBT civil rights. In an email sent to [creationist nutbag Kirk] Cameron through his manager on Friday, Bernstein wrote that he had “endured brutal bullying” in high school because he was gay, and invited Cameron to a lunch on Saturday along with other members of the LGBT community in Ocean Grove.

“In a kind, respectful and constructive way, we’d like to talk to you about the pain your words about being LGBT have personally caused me and other LGBT youth,” Bernstein wrote. “Your statement that being LGBT is ‘destructive to our civilization,’ when millions of LGBT people like me try our very best every day to make our world a better place, was like a knife in the heart.”
Despite Bernstein’s heartfelt plea, Cameron declined

You know what’s not funny? Hate. You know what’s also not funny? People going on hate-filled rants. However, you know what is funny, people going on hate-filled rants that make so little sense that they sound like someone took the worst comments from a political message board, mixed all the words around, translated them to Japanese, and then translated them back. And that’s what happened at a council meeting in Lincoln, Nebraska and it resulted in one of the craziest videos you’ll see this week.

Recently, Nebraskan cities have been trying to deal with the lack of protection that LGBT citizens have from discrimination. The state’s anti-discrimination laws don’t cover sexual orientation. YouTube user aksarbent has been uploading videos of some of the more interesting moments from hearings on the issue. One of them, he or she labeled “Best in Show!” and, good lord, is that not hyperbole.

I promise this is the best video you’ll watch today. Just….wow.
