How is it that some of the same women who want to protect my right to have an abortion want to take away my right to own a gun?
I thought I could make choices?
Or can I only make the choices you want me to make?
Guns don’t kill people. Guns are inanimate objects.
That are used solely to kill people, stupid.
Abortions DO kill people or else 50 million people since 1973 would be alive today, but they’re not.
By that logic, how many people since the invention of the condom would be alive today if they weren’t brutally slaughtered by a rubber?
Guns are innocent, abortion is not.
Guns are weapons designed to kill people at the benefit of the gun manufactures and to the detriment of everyone who has to live around an asshole with a gun. That’s not innocent. That’s bordering on terrorism. Abortion is a medical procedure that causes no threat to you. You don’t know what you’re talking about, but what you’re supporting is, in fact, fascism.
If anything should be banned it’s abortion, not guns.
Nobody’s talking about a ban on anything, don’t you fucking reframe my argument. You wanna fight a straw man? Go ahead, just don’t drag me into it.
Oh and I’m not going to debate with you about abortion.
I choose to debate about abortion anyway. Here’s why we have laws, at all: To protect people and society. Not only are fetuses not people, but if they were people, it wouldn’t matter, because their survival has no impact on any of the other people in society. Look, it’s like this:
Say the woman who lives three doors down from you is murdered on Monday. The woman two doors down from you is murdered on Tuesday and on Wednesday the woman next door to you is murdered. How are you going to feel on Thursday morning? Like you need some intervention to prevent your murder? Yeah, probably, you should be freaking out. You want the cops there to save you. Now say instead of being murdered they all got abortions in that order and you’re pregnant. How do you feel Thursday morning? Just fine, right? Why would their abortions impact you? What threat does it put upon you? How does it impact society? Who’s autonomy does that take away? Nobody’s, that’s who.
This post wasn’t comparing guns and abortion.
Of course it was, don’t be silly.
I was pointing out the fact that pro-choice anti-gun women are stupid for saying I should be able to do what I want with my body but I shouldn’t be able to own a gun to protect myself. What the heck?!
You really think people are saying you “shouldn’t be able to own a gun?” Are you sure they’re not actually saying “there ought to be stricter regulations about what kind of artillery can be sold for personal use and who can qualify to make that purchase based on the likelihood they’ll use it irresponsibly?” That’s why we don’t call it “gun ban,” we call it “gun control.”
