List of people claimed to be Jesus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia →

One of my favorite Wikipedia pages. What makes people who believe Jesus is/was real based on faith not believe these people?

Evanglical Leader Tells Wives To Submit; Claims Nagging Like Torture →

Christianity misogynistic. In related news, sky blue.

sweetpotatortot:

Why has marriage and Christmas and Easter basically lost its biblical bond? Atheists getting married and atheists celebrating the birth of Christmas. Why.

Because fuck you, I’m allowed to do what I want and I don’t have to clear it with your fucking backward, patriarchal, tyrannical church you fucking theocratic jerk.

No one needs or is interested in your approval or gives a shit about your opinion. Fuck. You. Fuckface.

I agree. It’s exactly as erroneous, which is to say, not at all erroneous.

Oh, look, a nice family movie about the reality of raising a child in a traditional, born-again Christian household. Praise Jesus! Hollywood’s getting it right this time.

Robertson: 'Simple' Foreigners More Likely to Experience Miracles than 'Sophisticated' Americans →

Today on the 700 Club, a viewer asked host Pat Robertson why miracles such as “people raised from the dead, blind eyes open, lame people walking” seem to “happen with great frequency in Africa, and not here in the USA?” Robertson first responded by joking it is “because those people overseas didn’t go to Ivy League schools.”

It’s true, people stop believing in miracles and dragons and fairies and gods when they get an education.

I hate how much I struggle with Chastity. I hate how I struggle to keep it. I wish I had more LDS friends irl to talk too. I’m feeling pretty guilty and unworthy. And I feel like I shouldn’t, idk.

Help

“I’m feeling pretty guilty and unworthy.” This is how religion intends to make everyone feel by associating normal human responses to shame and guilt. The church, especially the Mormon church, chooses natural, healthy stimulants like sex and tries to distance you from then to make you reliant on the church to achieve any degree of happiness or satisfaction. However, sexual feelings are not something you can really control. You can suppress, but you can’t change the fact that you want to have sex. For the church, this creates a system perpetual dependence. You need the church to satisfy you and to keep you from doing something the church has told you is bad and you need the church as a place of contrition once you inevitably fail to meet their demands. It’s a perfect scam. You’re being used! You shouldn’t let this institution make you feel anyway at all. Whether they’re making you feel guilty or like you have some great purpose or whatever they’re just manipulating you.

“I didn’t know anything about the church or where they were located, but that story kept popping up. And one night I wondered, Where is this church? I got on Google Earth, and I was ‘walking down the road,’ and I did a 360 view. And I saw a ‘For Sale’ sign sitting in the front yard of a house. Right away it hit me, Oh my gosh, I could buy a house in front of the WBC! And immediately I thought: And I’m going to paint that thing the color of the pride flag.“

Jack Schaap, Indiana Pastor, Claimed Jesus Wanted Him To Have Sex With Teenage Girl →

fuckyeahfeminists:

Dude, if you have a predatory voice in your head that is NOT Jesus. You’re actually just hearing voices. But you’re still a predator.

*envisions interrogation*

police: so why did you think it was okay to have sex with a 16, 17 year old girl?

Schaap: because Jesus.

just…no.

Here’s how this thought process works. Say you’re a Christian and you’re told to be 100% devoted to Christ in everything and no matter what God asks of you, no matter how strange, you do it. So, if you’re Abraham and God wants you to slaughter your son, you don’t hesitate. You drag that child up to the mountain top and you bring the blade down on him and if God stops you before you spill any blood then you praise and thank him just as much as you would if you had killed him. Today, God doesn’t make so many public appearances because he’s got the church to communicate through so anyone who becomes a pastor or a priest or any other “man of God,” instantly gains the trust of the community. Why wouldn’t they trust him, he’s been sanctioned by God. If he weren’t sanctioned by God, if God didn’t want this guy speaking for him, why would God allow this guy to rise to this position? Clearly, the pastor speaks for God and if you’re a teenage girl who has been taught this lesson your whole life, you don’t second guess when he asks you to fuck him for Jesus. You walk up that mountain top like Abraham and you strip.

And it all follows reasonably, except of course for the premise that there’s any god at all. There’s your harm of religion.

Jesus was not a pacifist. The idea that the gun is evil – that’s a myth that’s been perpetrated by the left. It’s sad to me as a pastor to see that…Political correctness is the bonfire of the sanities (sic).
