Priest abuse victims' group (SNAP) blacklists 12 cardinals for pope →

Rome (CNN) — A group representing survivors of sexual abuse by priests named a “Dirty Dozen” list of cardinals it said would be the worst candidates for pope based on their handling of child sex abuse claims.

Their presence on the list is based “on their actions and/or public comment about child sex abuse and cover up in the church,” the group said.

The listincludes Roman Catholic cardinals from several countries.

SNAP, the Survivors’ Network of those Abused by Priests, said as it released the list Wednesday that its accusations were based on media reports, legal filings and victims’ statements.

Coward Pope probably resigned in scandal after all →

Reports coming out of Italy suggest that the pope decided to call it quits not because of his old age but instead to avoid the fallout that could come from a secret 300-page dossier compiled by three cardinals he tapped to look into last year’s leak of confidential papers stolen from his desk.

Those papers, widely known as the “VatiLeaks,” raised questions of financial impropriety and corruption at the Vatican. The investigation that followed, however, may prove even more uncomfortable for church officials.

Faith healer parents avoid jail after son, 16, dies in horrible pain after they tried to 'pray away' his burst appendix →

Two parents have avoided jail after admitting they let their son, 16, die in horrible agony because they chose to ‘pray away’ his burst appendix and refused to take him to the hospital.

Russel and Brandi Bellew, age 39 and 36, of Creswell, Oregon, pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide on Tuesday and were sentenced to five years probation after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors.

Yikes do these two look older than 39 and 36. I guess they’ve been praying the filth away too. I usually just take a daily shower, but that’s faithless me.

Like many religious cults, this secretive Muslim sect think they’re so much fucking better than the rest of society that they decided to dig themselves into a hole where they can properly abuse their children the way god would have wanted without the prying eyes of societal forces stepping in and telling you how to raise your kids!

(CNN)–Areas of Brooklyn, New York feel like a trip back in time. Ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities live a lifestyle that mirrors their ancestors from centuries ago. The dress, hair, language, education, food, values, prayers, traditions and community structure have been passed down and preserved through many generations and across oceans. All of those are an expression of the residents’ profound faith in God.

What is not visible are shameful secrets: Child sex abuse scandals have been making headlines for years and bringing unwanted attention to a group bent on privacy.

Isn’t this what we were just talking about? Insular religious communities think they’re above the law and the rest of society.
