WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT PROPERTY RIGHTS OUR PLANET IS DYING

moralanarchism:

OUR PLANET IS DYING

OUR PLANET IS DYING

OUR PLANET IS DYING

If we actually had property rights the planet wouldn’t be “dying.”

Pollution is nothing more than trespass.   Just like if someone is trespassing on your property you have the right to remove them.  If we actually had property rights we would be able to get an injunction to stop the pollution.

Yeah, cause this worked so well for the people of Coal River Mountain, West Virgina, The beaches of Louisiana, Love Canal, NY, and a million other examples.

Something’s wrong with your libertarian brain, my friend, that greats a disconnect between what happens in your economy textbook and what happens in reality. Pollution isn’t trespassing, it’s a siege.

It never goes away, it’s there, forever.

Those with the greatest wealth use their financial powers (which your ideology wants to make more powerful) to squelch dissent. They’ll step on towns, cause cancer and misery and pick up and leave to sell their poisons elsewhere and what are the poor, sick and dying going to do about their homes and lives now? What amount of “trespassing fines” make up for a 4 year old developing lung cancer? How is that a system that works? Stern industry regulations are the only effective preventative measures that keep coal mining and other companies from polluting our world and continuing to profit. Do these regulations always work? no. Are they manipulated, often yes, but that doesn’t mean you just get rid of the whole system. Regulatory bodies need to be repaired, not destroyed!

Look at what unregulated industries accomplish. Global warming denialism is the same bunch of crap as people who once denied a connection between smoking and cancer. It’s industry guided misinformation. How can individuals overcome the massive resources of these sorts of campaigns? How can you so oversimplify this?
