So the company Tom’s donates to the same anti-gay group Chick-fil-a does, and the group is called Focus On The Family.
So people buying from Tom’s like to feel good about themselves by buying those shoes to help another person in a third world country without lifting a finger, but they are unknowingly advocating the taking of rights from people in their own country. Pretty sad.
No, completely wrong. TOMS never donated to Focus on the Family. The Founder of TOMS did speak at an event sponsored by Focus on the Family and then, later, when he learned what Focus on the Family did and who they were, he admitted it was a stupid mistake. He cut ties with them, which were never financial. FotF wanted to become a distributor of TOMS in Africa, but, after learning who they were, TOMS pulled out of that deal too. This all happened over 12 months ago.
How he could have possibly not known who Focus on the Family were, I don’t know, but Chik-fil-a, he ain’t.
