hey atheists.
if you have little to zero understanding of how certain religions work, you have NO right to criticize it.
Actually, I do have the right to criticize it. I have the right to say anything. You, on the other hand, literally don’t have the right to dictate to me what my rights are. I mean, you can try, but you’ll be wrong and I’ll make fun of you for not knowing what a right is.
some of these religions are tied to cultures (ie hinduism and islam)
All religions are tied to culture. You think that just because those are minority religions in the Western world that to criticize them as them harmful systems of oppression is racist? You don’t know what you’re talking about. Islam isn’t any less abusive and mind-warping than Christianity and they both deserve the criticism. Islam keeps little girls in Afghanistan from learning to read, it forces women to marry their rapists, it halts science and technology, it consolidates power. Like all religions, Islam is regarded by the common as true, the wise as false and the power-hungry as useful. And there’s a reason abusive and oppressive hate-mongers are so successful at using a religion so steeped in teaching fear, obedience and superstition: it’s because there is no truth behind it. Allah isn’t real, it’s a fairy tale, just like Yahweh and Christ and the holy spook, they’re all just ghost stories, kid. And when people start to believe in irrational things like ghosts and gods and allahs and prophets, they start to act irrationally to please it and harm ensues. Doesn’t matter if it’s hinduism or scientology or islam, they’re all the same, it’s the same harm in all of them.
and if you have no understanding of how it works, shut the fuck up. you can be racist with your wording because of deep rooted these religions are to their cultures (ie islamophobia).
take it from another borderline atheist.
borderline atheist? What could that even mean? Sounds to me like you’re the one who doesn’t understand how religions (and even not-religions) work.
