It actually makes me really sad. It reminds me of what an effective job religions do of brainwashing the youth. Hey, I came up Catholic too. I was and was surrounded by people downtrodden and trapped by their ideology. People who invest in religion like CatholicGirlProblems don’t evaluate the details of their opinions. They don’t have the same process you and I have. Their opinions are contingent upon their understanding of what they think their church/god wants. I could pull apart her argument and tear out the fluff and surgically remove every logical fallacy and expose her argument as having nothing behind it, but the real problem is the logic behind that comment is irrelevant. If I showed her where she was wrong, she’d find a different justification. All she cares about is that she’s on the church’s side of this issue.

That makes me sad.
